It’s pub day
And the vultures are circling already
Good morning, my friend.
It’s pub day for Shift, and I had planned to not be online today. I am currently on a cruise, docked at Tortola, BVI. It’s hot and humid, which kind of matches my current mood. Fuming, am I.
Shift was showing as sold out on Amazon.ca this morning (thank you, eager beavers!). And while this is great news, it has a very disturbing downside.
The vultures and their algorithms circle the bodies of the books that have now become hard to obtain. They raise the price, and falsify lie about having stock. Amazon bots don’t know any better, so that version is pushed out to the top.
The proper price for the book is $20 plus change (depends on exchange rate) on Amazon Canada. I’ve taken screenshots of the money-sucking vampiric seller. Yeah, I’m pissed. Book sales are hard enough to generate without someone seeing the $30 price tag and thinking, “a paperback for $30? I mean, I love Dana’s writing, but she’s dreaming.”
Anyhow, the other screenshots show you where to really buy the book.

On another note, the Calgary book launch on Sept 28th. has 8 spaces left. Get your seat here: https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/shift-book-launch-party-tickets-699211479357?aff=ebdshpsearchautocomplete
Happy Reading!
Dana
